    The DWC Leading Forum Was Successfully Held in Ningbo, Zhejiang

    The DWC Digital World Forum, themed Empowering Sustainable Development With Digital Technology, was convened in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The forum, initiated by the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA), received guidance from the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development, with joint sponsorship from the DWC Digital World Forum Organizing Committee, Cloud Security Alliance, and the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology. Mr. Yale Li, Co-founder and Executive Chairman of the World Digital Technology Academy, introduced the DWC Digital World Forum as a vital platform for digital technology innovation and international collaboration. This inaugural forum marked WDTA’s public debut, providing a platform for sharing insights, discussing the latest trends, and showcasing WDTA’s voice and actions in the digital field. WDTA aims to strengthen cooperation with more digital technology enterprises and international partners to jointly create an international platform for innovation and collaboration in the digital technology era.

    Mr. Peter Major, Executive Chairman of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development and Chairman of the World Digital Technology Academy, emphasized the need to ensure the realization of the true potential of digital technology. He stressed the importance of conscious and strategic guidance while upholding transparency, fairness, and responsibility. WDTA, operating within the framework of the United Nations, adheres to the development concept of “Speed, Safety, and Sharing,” leading innovation and international cooperation in digital technology to transform technological innovation into tangible global public interests, ensuring that everyone benefits

    During the forum, the 2023 Global Artificial Intelligence Governance Declaration was officially released, aiming to advocate for the establishment of a global governance framework for artificial intelligence to ensure its safe, trusted, and responsible use.

    To further advance research on artificial intelligence, technological innovation, and industrial collaboration, the World Digital Technology Academy established the AI Committee, which will continuously publish rule guidelines and technical standards, and engage in collaborative efforts to implement the initiatives outlined in the declaration.

    In the context of globalization of the digital economy, technological exchanges, knowledge sharing, and cooperation among countries have become crucial factors driving development. During the summit dialogue session, distinguished representatives from the United Nations, international organizations, and technology companies discussed and shared their views from various angles, focusing on global issues such as bridging the digital divide, overcoming obstacles to international cooperation, and seeking win-win solutions in a competitive yet collaborative environment. The aim was to provide new perspectives and directions for the globalization of digital technology innovation and sustainable development.

    In the current era of rapid digital technology development, the integration of traditional teaching models with cutting-edge digital technology to cultivate high-quality talents adaptable to future societal demands has become a focal point of attention for many universities and experts. The Cloud Security Alliance Greater China Region, in collaboration with Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, Donghua University, and East China Normal University, jointly established the “Digital Security Talent Training Innovation Center,” promoting innovative cooperation in talent cultivation for internationalized digital security, strategic thinking, and industry-oriented practical talents.

    Furthermore, to stimulate global digital technology innovation and cooperation and promote the sustainable development of digital technology for the benefit of all humanity, the World Digital Technology Academy established the DWCA Digital World Contribution Award in 2023. This award recognizes organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions in the fields of digital technology innovation, digital security governance, and the integration of digital technology with the real economy. At the event, awards were presented to the winning organizations and individuals by Peter Major and Yale Li.

    Key Action from UN World Summit for Social Development: WDTA and UNRISD Sign Cooperation Agreement to Co-host 2026 Digital World Conference

    Ms. Magdalena Sepúlveda Carmona, Director of UNRISD, and Dr. Melan Xu, Executive Director of WDTA, formally signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. The agreement announced their joint commitment to prepare for the inaugural Digital World Conference (DWC), scheduled for April 2026 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. This signing ceremony, witnessed by H.E. Amb. Prof. Muhammadou M. O. Kah, Chair of the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), and Academician Li Yuhang, Executive Chairman of the Board of WDTA, marks a new stage of in-depth collaboration between the two parties in advancing global digital inclusive development.
