WDTA Academician Council

WDTA establishes a diversified structure of academicians, including Academicians, Young Academicians, and Corresponding Academicians, gathering global wisdom to create a world-leading scientific community in the digital age.

WDTA Academicians include Nobel Laureates, Turing Award winners, national academy members, scientific innovation leaders, and emerging young leaders. Through intergenerational and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Council aims to facilitate the implementation of best practices, drive breakthrough innovations, and empower the development of future talents and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Academicians

Recognized for groundbreaking scientific contributions of strategic importance to digital society. Candidates typically hold distinctions such as the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal, or membership in leading national academies.

Young Academicians

Honoring outstanding scientists, technologists, and engineers under 45 who have demonstrated pioneering research or transformative industry impact—including recipients of top innovation awards and founders of leading technology enterprises.

Corresponding Academicians

Awarded to influential leaders who significantly advance the diffusion of digital technologies and scientific knowledge, with recognized impact in driving sector-wide development and adoption.

Who Can Be Nominated

WDTA’s digital science and technology fields include mathematics, physics, computer science, information systems, network engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, digital economy, and others.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility standards for WDTA Academicians include:

Fundamental Science Achievements

Recipients of top international awards in mathematics/physics (e.g., Fields Medal, Nobel Prize in Physics, Turing Award, etc.)

Academicians of International Academic Organizations

Members of CAETS (International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences), Euro-CASE (European Council of Applied Sciences and Engineering), TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences), and national academies.

Special Nomination

Technology leaders from UN member states who have made outstanding contributions to the development of digital innovation may be specially nominated by the WDTA Board.
