    H.E. Muhammadou M. O. Kah Appointed as Vice Chair of the WDTA Education Council

    During April 15-19, 2024, the 27th Session of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development was held grandly at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. As a high-level (ministerial) meeting, it attracted government representatives and leaders from the international science and technology community from 193 countries to discuss cutting-edge trends and challenges in technological development and to promote global cooperation and development in technology. During this grand event, the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA) held a side event titled "Shaping the Future of AI" and inaugurated the WDTA headquarters, highlighting its significant status and influence in the global tech arena.

    Prof. Yale LI WDTA Executive Chairman, awarded the appointment certificate to H.E. Muhammadou M. O. Kah during the event, officially naming him as Vice Chair of the WDTA Education Council. The WDTA Education Council, as a strategic guiding body for education at WDTA, brings together top university presidents and chief scientists from global enterprises. The council is dedicated to innovating and developing global digital talent education, fostering high-level talent cultivation and international cooperation, and training more exceptional digital talents worldwide.

    Born in 1966, H.E. Muhammadou M. O. Kah has a rich background in technology and education. He has served as Vice Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Vice Chair of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UNCSTD), Ambassador of Gambia to the UN in Geneva, Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO), and President of the University of Gambia. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science in the USA and has held numerous leadership positions in industry, academia, government, and international organizations.

    Prof.Yale LI during the appointment ceremony, highly praised H.E. Muhammadou M. O. Kah’s international leadership experience in science and technology education and his charismatic leadership. He stated that His Excellency’s joining would bring new vitality to the DigiBridge Digital Talent Development Program, a collaboration between WDTA and the United Nations, aiding the education of global digital talents in the digital technology era.

    At the 9th United Nations Science, Technology and Innovation Forum (UN STI Forum) held at the UN Headquarters in New York, WDTA will host a side event for the DigiBridge: Digital Talent Development Program. H.E. Muhammadou M. O. Kah will attend and deliver a speech, unveiling new achievements in WDTA's digital talent education, aiming to deepen the integration of digital technology and education, and advance the global digital talent training process, ensuring no one is left behind.
