WDTA Showcases DigiBridge Digital Talent Program at UN STI Forum

    2024-05-16 10:59:48

On May 9, 2024, the ninth annual Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum) opened at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

During the event, the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA) successfully hosted the 2024 United Nations STI Forum DigiBridge Digital Talent Development Side Event, where it highlighted the "DigiBridge Digital Talent Development Program" and the "Generative AI Education Framework" launched at the 27th United Nations Science and Technology Summit. The event emphasized the critical role of innovative educational solutions in shaping a resilient digital economy, particularly through AI-driven training programs and leveraging digital technologies to bridge the current global talent gap and empower developing countries to achieve growth.

At the event, WDTA Executive  Chairman and Prof. Yale Li introduced DigiBridge as a global leading program in digital talent development, aimed at bridging the global digital skills gap for all. DigiBridge systematically addresses all the necessary competencies for cultivating digital professional knowledge, establishing a robust framework that includes standards, assessments, and certifications, enabling governments, businesses, societies, and talents worldwide to develop together, providing a lifelong learning platform for university students, technology professionals, and industry leaders. DigiBridge plays a crucial role in supporting the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UN CSTD) in promoting digital talent development in developing countries.

The Generative AI Education Framework focuses on nurturing talents in various aspects of AI technology and its applications, including technology, governance, applications, and research, directly addressing the complex challenges brought about by the widespread adoption of AI. This framework not only promotes the safe development of AI technology but also delves into addressing social issues such as algorithmic bias, employment impact, and privacy rights, guiding AI technology towards more ethical, trustworthy, and responsible applications, providing unified standards and guiding principles for global AI governance. Previously, WDTA's "Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer" and "AI Security Expert" certification programs and course offerings were key components of the Generative AI Education Framework, aiming to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence, shaping them into senior leaders capable of driving innovation and transformation within enterprises.

Prof. Yale Li emphasized that DigiBridge is a key support for driving global digital technology leaps, and the digital talent development based on the "Generative AI Talent Development Framework" lays a solid theoretical foundation for DigiBridge. WDTA looks forward to collaborating with global partners, sharing new achievements in AI technology, and building bridges for learners in the digital age to grow in line with educational goals and industry needs, promoting educational and technological innovation, and ushering in a new phase of the digital future.

H.E. Mr. Muhammadou M. o. Kah, Chairman of the UN CSTD and Vice Chair of the WDTA Education Council, stated that digital education should be globally inclusive and is crucial for narrowing the digital divide in developing countries. DigiBridge is an innovative cross-border educational program dedicated to bridging the global digital gap, playing a profound role in nurturing future digital leaders, fostering sustainable global digital development, and promoting equal access to digital education worldwide.

WDTA's timely implementation and promotion of the DigiBridge program demonstrate its determination in educational innovation and talent development in the digital age. The active participation of various sectors, including government and industry, showcases the unlimited potential of collaboration between science, technology, and education in addressing global challenges, paving the way for shaping an inclusive and open educational ecosystem driven by technology.
