    2024-04-18 17:48:00

AI Side Event of the 27th UN CSTD Held in Geneva on April 16

On April 16, at the AI Side Event of the 27th Session of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA) announced the launch of the DigiBridge Digital Talent Development Initiative. This initiative aims to address the shortage of digital technology talent in developing countries by enhancing digital skills, boosting digital economic growth, and facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange in the digital domain.

DigiBridge is the world’s first comprehensive generative AI talent development initiative. It integrates advanced educational technologies, industry demands, and international standards, and is dedicated to providing a lifelong learning platform for university students, digital technology professionals, and executives/leaders in relevant fields. Additionally, the initiative covers the full spectrum of knowledge and skills required for digital technology development, establishing a framework, standards, assessment, and certification system—enabling governments, employers, and societies to more efficiently match competency and candidates to job requirements globally.

At the event, Academician Li Yuhang, Executive Director of WDTA, officially released the Generative AI Talent Development Framework (a key component of the DigiBridge initiative). Designed to fully address the professional skill demands of the AI era, this framework emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary talent in cutting-edge AI research and engineering implementation.

The Generative AI Talent Development Framework provides in-depth insights into AI’s development trends, impacts, challenges in AI education, and related goals, while conducting a detailed analysis of AI applications in vertical industries. Wang Anyu, CTO of Global Education and Talent Development at WDTA, played a pivotal role in developing this framework. It specifically highlights the significance of mastering AI’s theoretical foundations and practical applications in the AI era, and explores various educational pathways and methods for cultivating such skills.

Furthermore, WDTA released two key books—Beyond AI and Generative AI Security—as the official learning guides for DigiBridge.
