ASEAN-CHINA GBA Forum on Artificial Intelligence Cooperation

As the core special session of the 2025 Greater Bay Area-ASEAN Economic Cooperation (Qianhai) Forum, the “Greater Bay Area-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Forum” (on the afternoon of November 28) is hosted by the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA) and the Hong Kong Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Society. With the theme “Connecting ASEAN with Intelligence: AI-Driven New Model of Industrial Cooperation”, it focuses on key AI-related directions (including trustworthy governance and technological innovation) — serving as a targeted exchange platform to deepen AI industrial synergy between the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN.

Trusted Digital ldentity for People & Al:From UN Strategy to Dpl Deployment

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will convene Digital@UNGA during the 2025 United Nations General Assembly, creating a space to spotlight digital cooperation across a range of activities and organizations. Through a flagship Anchor Event and a diverse programme of Affiliate Sessions, Digital@UNGA will bring together leaders, innovators, youth, and civil society to explore how digital can be a force for good, for people and prosperity. During the "Digital@UNGA" summit, the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA) hosted a side event titled "Trusted Digital Identity for Humans and AI: From UN Strategies to Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Deployment." This side event centered on the three core principles of "interoperability, privacy protection, and inclusive design," addressing both "humans and AI agents" as dual entities. Discussions were held to share technological practices, policy experiences, and case studies, aiming to address implementation bottlenecks and provide pathways for the global scalability of United Nations digital identity initiatives.

Data+AI Side Event for the 10th STI Forum

The United Nations Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum 2025) is a high-level annual platform convened under the auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It brings together governments, scientists, innovators, and civil society to advance the role of science, technology, and innovation in achieving the 2030 Agenda. As part of the 10th STI Forum in 2025, this side event titled "Data+AI for Sustainable Industries Growth" will explore how data and artificial intelligence (AI) can transform industrial systems, enable sustainable economic practices, and promote inclusive development. Through keynote presentations and global case studies, the event will highlight how advanced technologies are reshaping value chains, driving productivity, and enhancing global cooperation toward the SDGs.

I.CAIO HK FORUM

The I.CAIO (International Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer) certification training program was officially launched by the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA) at the 27th United Nations Science and Technology Conference, held at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, in April 2024. This program aims to cultivate senior talents capable of comprehensively leading and managing enterprise AI strategies, helping enterprises fully leverage AI technology for continuous innovation and digital transformation. Through systematic training in the I.CAIO certification program, participants will receive professional instruction from industry leaders across ten modules (including strategy, technology, business, and governance), comprehensively expanding their knowledge and enhancing their strategic capabilities; they will also strengthen their engineering practice skills through individual, group, and enterprise project assignments.

Digital World Conference: AI STR Forum (Artificial Intelligence: Safety, Trust, and Responsibiility Forum)

The 3rd Global AI Action Summit 2025, hosted by the French government and co-organized by the Indian government, will take place in Paris on February 10-11, 2025. The summit will bring together leaders from nearly 100 countries to reach a consensus on the secure development of artificial intelligence.As a subforum of the AI Action Summit in Hong Kong, the Artificial Intelligence Safety, Trust, and Responsibility Forum (AI STR Forum) will be held at Cyberport, Hong Kong. The forum will gather academicians, executives from leading tech companies, and representatives from international organizations to directly address the security concerns arising from large AI models such as ChatGPT, Sora, and DeepSeek. Discussions will focus on how to balance technological innovation with security risks in the AI era and promote the secure implementation of AI in industries.

Ms. Magdalena Sepúlveda Carmona, Director of UNRISD, and Dr. Melan Xu, Executive Director of WDTA, formally signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. The agreement announced their joint commitment to prepare for the inaugural Digital World Conference (DWC), scheduled for April 2026 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
