2025 United Nations Digital@UNGAI Side Event

Trusted Digital Identity for Humans and AI: From UN Strategies to Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Deployment.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will convene Digital@UNGA during the 2025 United Nations General Assembly, creating a space to spotlight digital cooperation across a range of activities and organizations. Through a flagship Anchor Event and a diverse programme of Affiliate Sessions, Digital@UNGA will bring together leaders, innovators, youth, and civil society to explore how digital can be a force for good, for people and prosperity.

During the "Digital@UNGA" summit, the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA) hosted a side event titled "Trusted Digital Identity for Humans and AI: From UN Strategies to Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Deployment." This side event centered on the three core principles of "interoperability, privacy protection, and inclusive design," addressing both "humans and AI agents" as dual entities. Discussions were held to share technological practices, policy experiences, and case studies, aiming to address implementation bottlenecks and provide pathways for the global scalability of United Nations digital identity initiatives.
