Dr. Peter Major

Dr. Peter Major holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Eötvös Loránd University. With over thirty years of leadership experience within the United Nations system, he has played a pivotal role in shaping global digital and technology governance.

Dr. Major has served for more than a decade with the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), leading efforts to advance innovation policy and digital inclusion. He also spent over twenty years at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), where he oversaw Internet governance initiatives and fostered cooperation between the UN and the European Commission on network-related development. Beyond his UN service, Dr. Major has provided strategic guidance to several computer technology enterprises, contributing his deep expertise in AI and global ICT policy to strengthen international cooperation in the digital era.
